Our Ideal Candidate

Clackamas Welding, a division of Lafarge & Egge, is looking for a motivated and skilled patron of the welding art that is willing to weld challenging assemblies as they work toward advancement. The welder will be able to deploy GTAW (TIG), orbital, and potentially, laser welding skills to achieve close tolerances or high finish requirements. They must be proficient in setup and optimization of short lead-time production runs for aerospace related parts and tooling. They will perform parts assembly if necessary and work under limited supervision.

Duties & Responsibilites
  • Ability to plan and implement welding, brazing, and soldering jobs assigned in accordance to drawings, specifications, and written and verbal instructions
  • Must maintain absolute compliance to the Quality Management System and its processes at all times including AS9100 and Nadcap requirements
  • Must be open to training and corrective actions
  • Maintain a customer-focused attitude at all times
  • Explore and learn aerospace or AWS specifications where applicable
  • Must have a superbly critical eye for detail
  • Willing to consistently follow safety procedures and wear all required PPE
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Possesses a self-starter mentality
  • Able to adapt to changing job requirements
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment
  • Must have an excellent attendance record
  • High School or GED required, welding vocational school preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of welding experience in Aerospace or High Quality Environment
  • Proficiency in Micro TIG welding
  • Must be able to pass welder qualification tests in Stainless, Inconel, and other alloys as required (e.g. Aluminum, Titanium)
  • This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. For further information, see 22 CFR 120.15
  • Preferred: Vocational training in GTAW and/or prior experience in aerospace TIG welding/brazing or tool and die repair
  • Preferred: General shop fabrication knowledge, e.g. manual mill or lathe
